Meaning: Crazy or deranged; particularly eccentric (điên, loạn trí)
Example: My grandfather came back from the war as mad as a hatter because of all the horrible things he saw.
Meaning: To exaggerate or put too much focus on a minor issue and make it seem like a major one (làm chuyện nhỏ hóa to)
Example: You got one B and you're acting like you're failing the class. You're making a mountain out of a molehill, if you ask me.
Make (both) ends meet
Meaning: To earn just enough money to pay one's bills. (kiếm đủ tiền chi trả chi phí)
Example: To make ends meet, Phil picked up a second job delivering pizzas.
Meaning: To take advantage of favorable conditions; to make the most of an opportunity when it is available (tận dụng tối đa điều kiện)
Example: We finally have the full group assembled, so let's make hay while the sun shines and get this thing done.
Make (one’s) mark
Meaning: To do something that will be remembered or that makes one famous or successful; to do something that is very important or meaningful. (tạo dấu ấn)
Example: The actress first made her mark with her incredible performance as Lady Macbeth on Broadway.
Make (one’s) day
Meaning: To cause one to feel very happy (khiến ai đó vui vẻ)
Example: Getting compliments at work always makes my day!
Meaning: An extremely well-suited pairing of people or things; a match that will result in a particularly positive or successful outcome. (cặp đôi hợp ý, kết quả trận đấu tích cực, thành công)
Example: Mike and Timothy are a match made in heaven! I can't think of two people better suited to marry one another.
Meaning: A situation in which two or more people reach an understanding or agreement (đi đến sự đồng thuận cuối cùng)
Example: After debating for hours, we finally came to a meeting of minds and decided on a name for our band.
Meaning: To lose the chance or opportunity to do something (mất cơ hội)
Example: If you don't call the recruiter back right away, you're going to miss the boat.
Mother Nature's
Meaning: Used to draw a comparison between something manmade and something that occurs in nature. (so sánh vật nhân tạo và tự nhiên)
Example: Fireflies are like mother nature's night lights.
Meaning: To do everything that one can to make something happen. (làm mọi thứ để đạt được thứ mình muốn)
Example: I had to move heaven and earth to get a flight home at Christmastime.
Meaning: To elevate or improve one's social, political, and/or financial position in life; to become more successful than one was before (nâng cao địa vị xã hội)
Example: You're only going to truly move up in the world if you make a point of rubbing elbows with those of a higher social standing.
Meaning: A person who is able to get things done with their power, influence, or money (người có quyền/ tiền/ ảnh hưởng)
Example: She thinks her father can get me into law school. Apparently he's quite a mover and a shaker.

Meaning: Something that is pleasing to hear, such as good news (thứ dễ nghe, hứng thú để nghe)
Example: When Michelle heard that her son and daughter-in-law were going to have a baby, it was music to her ears.
