Send (someone) away
Nghĩa 1: Dismiss from one’s presence (loại bỏ sự hiện diện của ai đó)
Ví dụ: The salesman was taking up too much time with his nonsense, so I SENT him AWAY.
Nghĩa 2: Send to a particular place for a long time, as a family member, an employee, etc. (gửi nhờ một thời gian)
Ví dụ: We are going to SEND our son AWAY to live with his uncle in America for a year.
Send away for (something)
Nghĩa: Write to a business or other organisation, requesting a thing (gửi đi, cho đi)
Ví dụ: You can SEND AWAY FOR a brochure about this hotel, if you like.
Send back
Nghĩa 1: Return something (trả lại)
Ví dụ: I SENT my food BACK because it was overcooked.
Nghĩa 2: Remind (someone) of a previous time in the past (nhắc ai đó nhớ về)
Ví dụ: That song SENDS me BACK to the 1970s.
Send (something or someone) back (to some place) for something
Nghĩa 1: To instruct or direct someone to return (to some place) to retrieve or accomplish something. (nhờ ai đó trở lại để làm việc gì)
Ví dụ: I realized I had left one of the binders for the meeting in the office, so I SENT my assistant BACK FOR it.
Nghĩa 2: To instruct that something be returned (to some place) for some reason or to have something done. (gửi vật gì đến nơi nào đó vì vài lí do hoặc để hoàn thành)
Ví dụ: The customer SENT the meal BACK to the kitchen FOR being served cold.
Send (one) for (something or someone)
Nghĩa: To request or order that one go and bring someone or something (kêu ai đó đến nơi nào)
Ví dụ: I've SENT your father FOR a doctor. Hopefully they'll be back soon.
Send in
Nghĩa 1: Order people into a place to handle a problem (giao đến nơi nào để giải quyết vấn đề)
Ví dụ: The police were SENT IN to quell the riot as the protesters had started burning cars and wrecking shops.
Nghĩa 2: To submit or dispatch something, typically a document or payment (gửi thông tin)
Ví dụ: I've SENT my application IN, so hopefully I'll hear back soon.
Send (someone or something) off
Nghĩa 1: Expel a sports player from a match (cho ai đó ra khỏi cuộc thi đấu)
Ví dụ: The football striker was SENT OFF for arguing with the referee's decision.
Nghĩa 2: Post a letter (gửi thư)
Ví dụ: I must SEND this letter OFF today otherwise it won't get there in time.
Nghĩa 3: Send; to dispatch (gửi đi)
Ví dụ: Have you SENT OFF your application yet?
Nghĩa 4: To give one good wishes before a departure; to bid one farewell (chúc ai đó may mắn trước chuyến đi cũng như tạm biệt)
Ví dụ: We're all going to the airport to SEND Jeffrey OFF tomorrow.
Send (someone or something) out
Nghĩa 1: Send something to a lot of people (phân phát gì đó cho nhiều người)
Ví dụ: They SENT OUT a mailshot to all their existing customers.
Nghĩa 2: To instruct or direct one to leave some place (yêu cầu ai đó rời khỏi)
Ví dụ: We SENT the kids OUT to play in the sunshine for a while.
